The country's energy systems have come under increased attacks in recent weeks

During the night, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in blackouts in multiple districts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Meanwhile, a young boy was fatally injured in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, according to local officials.

Moscow has intensified attacks on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "concrete actions" from partner nations to exert influence on Moscow.

He said that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen rockets targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were laboring to repair systems.

Area administrators said the city came under significant strikes during nighttime hours. A young boy died and multiple civilians were hurt.

The assaults come after periods of bombing campaigns in the region, portions of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

Government officials told reporters that Russia was purposely seeking to demolish the country's energy grid, with assaults already disrupting energy systems.

Officials stated technical personnel and authorities were bracing for additional strikes.
